Record donations boost regional communities

15 December 2020 | Community

For the first time in its 12-year history Regional Australia Bank was unable to host its Community Partnership Program presentation events due to COVID-19. Despite these challenges, we have seen the program grow and gain momentum. In fact, we are proud to announce that 2020 has seen us reach a new milestone with a total of $1.55 Million being donated back to the communities across regional Australia.

Instead of hosting events, we congratulated our recipients and members virtually through a series of videos produced by local branch staff that were delivered to the inboxes of thousands of community groups across regional Australia.

Together with CEO Kevin Dupé, branches from across regional NSW got together to record messages of congratulations to everyone who participated in the Community Partnership Program.

In his video message to members, CEO Kevin Dupé acknowledged the benefits of this unique program saying

“It has grown exponentially year-on-year. The donations we give back are especially important this year during tough times. Thank you to all of our members who supported the program”.

Supporting Australia is what we do best

The Community Partnership Program is people powered - the more people that participate, the more donations local community organisations will continue to receive. It works by calculating a member’s average annual balance and donates the equivalent of 1% back to a chosen group each year – at no cost to the member. Many of our members participate in the program knowing that they are going to make an impact on their local community. It’s a simple reminder that they are part of something bigger than just being a customer of a bank, they are part of a movement empowering and enriching their regional community.
